Ignoring the pressure can also lead to nitrogen narcosis, also known as "rapture of the deep," which can impair judgment and decision-making. Additionally, diving deeper without properly managing pressure can increase the risk of decompression sickness, also known as "the bends," which occurs when nitrogen bubbles form in the bloodstream and tissues.
